Abilene-3 Pregnant Woman and Me!!

Haley and I ventured out on our longest trip alone yet, to my favorite place-Abilene, Texas! It always makes me smile and brings back so many memories when making the drive and arriving in the town. We met Amy, Kami, Laura and Ella for lunch at Lytle, went to campus and the ACU bookstore, did some shopping, rested, and ate at Abuleo's! Eating out is a big deal in Abilene because there is so much to choose from. Amy, Kami, Laura and I all lived on the same hall our freshman year, and these three have been my close friends ever since. Amy brought some old pictures of the 4 of us, and it was fun to look back and see how much we have changed.

Haley loved playing with Ella and was so excited to find out that in January, she was going to have another friend when Ella's new brother/sister arrives!! Congrats Jim and Laura on baby#2!

Here the girls are in their matching PJs! Haley looks scared or something. She loved to watch Ella and laugh at her, and Ella loved playing with Haley!
Laura took their picture for the ACU Today in their Born to be a Wildcat onsie that they send you when you have a baby!

It was sure hot in Abilene, but we tried to keep the two pregnant girls walking and out with us. Well it must have worked because Sunday Aaron and Kami welcomed Emory Lea into the world, and on Tuesday morning, Pete and Amy welcomed Noah Allen here! They are both going to be great parents and I can't wait for Ella and Haley to play with them at homecoming in October!
When I was driving home, I was thinking how lucky I was to have such great life long friends and why I loved each of these girls so much.
Laura-Laura and I were both Nutrition majors and in all of our majors classes together. We were also Siggies and I got to watch her go through pledging. I remember during welcome week, Laura and I went walking/running around the track together and ever since then we have been close friends. I was her Matron of Honor in her wedding, she took Haley's first professional pictures a month after she was born, for free and came to my house to do it, I was with her the night she met her husband, we went on our first cruise together two summers ago, and we have been through many other struggles and joys together. I love Laura because of her servant nature and good heart. I also love her easy going personality. She is always up for a fun trip or an adventure.
Kami-Hamburger as George still calls her was my second semester roommate in college. We both had horrible first semester roommates, and so I moved into her big end room in the Spring.
We would IM each other even though we were in the same room together. We were dorks, but knew it and enjoyed every minute of it. George and I introduced her to her husband, and we had many fun night and adventures with the Trojan boys (the club George and Aaron were in). I remember the first trip I took to her hometown of Ackerly, Texas (don't worry if you've never heard of it) population 431 or something. The funniest part I think was that you had to have a key to get gas at the 2 pumps in that town! I love Kami because she is a great listener and is such a Godly woman. She always puts others before herself, and she brings out the best in everyone she is around.
Amy-Amy, Amy Amy... Anyone pretty much that knows me, has heard me talk about Mrs. Amy! We were roommates our Sophomore and Junior year in college and had many fun times together. She always made me laugh and was my other half before I met George. We pledged Siggies together and hung out our whole freshman year with our sister's friends. I remember one night when she made me laugh so hard, I wet my pants on the back porch!! I love Amy because of her radiant personality. She lights up a room that she is in and is the life of the party. She was always up for doing something silly or just a late night talk.
My best memory of the 4 of us was going to Hawaii on Spring Break Campaign our Senior year! Now we are all mommies and I can't think of 3 more Godly, wonderful mothers than Kami, Amy, and Laura!

A Blog Moment

Okay, so I just put Haley down in bed right after her bottle and bath. She played for about 10 minutes, not crying, and she fell asleep on her own!! It's the first night, but if this continues, this will save mommy and daddy a lot of time at night! She is becoming such a big girl and I love it!

Haley's New Talents

Here are things Haley can do now:

1. Jump and kick her baby Einstein saucer so hard that it just wobbles and goes crazy and she loves it!

2. Lay on her back and play with her feet

3. Roll over both ways, she just mastered the back to stomach roll yesterday

4. Make a smacking and clicking noise with her tongue.

5. She slept from 11pm to 10am this morning!!

6. Move her left arm up and down spastically

7. Take long 2 hour naps during the day

8. Laugh at funny faces, when you tickle her, or when you talk to her and smile

9. Get really excited when George or I enter the room, or sad when we leave the room

10. Turn the pages of a book back and forth

11. Sit through Bible class on Sunday morning and Wednesday night for an hour and be as happy as can be..

It won't be much longer and she will be sitting up on her own!

I met with her babysitter yesterday and am preparing myself for the big day August 10th, when she will start going everyday and I go back to school! I praise the Lord that I feel good enough to go back to work, and I love my job, and I love the lady she is staying with, but needless to say, it won't make the transition any easier! I'm sure I will have some swollen eyes going into work for a few days, leaving my baby behind each morning! That's why I think George is going to get the drop off job each morning.

Austin Weekend

Haley, Mom and I went to Austin this weekend for Sara's baby shower. Juliet got lots of good stuff. Here is Haley and Juliet below. Haley can't wait to meet her baby cousin!

We are throwing a Fiesta party at our church in a couple of weeks, so I was trying to get a picture of Haley for the video announcements.

So Nonnie bought Cooper a pair of scrubs for the hospital that say big brother on them. He loved them and kept wanting to put them on while we were there. At one point he almost stepped on Haley, and we all said watch out, and Cooper said " Don't worry, I'm a Doctor!" it was hillarious to hear come out of a 3 year olds mouth!
We are heading out Abilene tomorrow! I can't wait to see all my girls! This will be Haley's first trip to Abilene!

The 4th, Anniversary, and an Ear Infection-Yuck!

We had a great 4th of July! George and Dad went for a ride on the motorcycles, while Haley, Mom and I went Mike and Lisa's pool. Later that night we all came out to our pasture and watched the big show. George and I had fun at Texas de Brazil on our anniversary! As you can see on my plate, it is way too much food to eat at one sitting! After all the weekend fun, Haley started getting really fussy after church yesterday and running a fever. After being up every hour last night, I took her to the doctor and she has an ear infection. She is now on her first round of antibiotics of her life. Not so fun being the mom of a sick baby:( I feel so helpless!
