16 Weeks and 170 Days left of school

Well I made it though my first week of school! I am having to adjust to not eating lunch until 12:00 each day, but besides that everything is going well. Each day I have been starving by lunch time. My kids are really good and I have smaller classes than last year which is nice.

I am 16 weeks pregnant today. I go back to the doctor on Thursday. I dreamed last night that I talked him into doing a sonogram to find out the sex of the baby. I doubt that will happen though, I'll probably have to wait 4 more weeks. Here is a picture of me today. I have gained 2 pounds so far, but am eating more and more everyday. The baby is now the size of a avocado.
I will post more after we get back from our Labor Day weekend fun!

15 Weeks

Thanks for all of your prayers for my Pepaw. He is home and doing great!

I am 15 weeks and 1 day today. Only 5 more weeks until we find out boy or girl. We are really excited to start buying pink or camo stuff. Either way is fine with us, we just are ready to find out. Here is a picture of the crib and changing table we are purchasing.
The baby is the size of an apple now. I am feeling pretty good, beside the occasional hot flashes, sweats, nausea, headaches and stopped up nose every morning. I keep telling everyone that I'm only doing this twice cause no one ever told me pregnancy was just not that fun. I'm sure the end result will take all the bad parts away. I went and bought 3 new maternity dresses to wear to school. I always need a back to school outfit. It just seems to make the first day more fun when you are excited about a new dress. Here are some pictures of a baby at 15 weeks.

Prayer for Pepaw

My Pepaw (my dad's dad) is in the hospital in Dallas and they have diagnosed him with CHF. If his heart is still racing tomorrow they are going to shock it back. Pray for peace and comfort for him and patience and strength for my Memaw.

George took a picture of me tonight after we went to the gym. Sorry you don't ever get a good looking picture of me. Its just that I like to get out of nice dress clothes as quick as possible after work and usually George isn't home yet. I am definitely starting to get a little baby belly.

And I think George was feeling left out, so I took his picture too:

14 weeks and a Dave Concert

I am 14 weeks and 1 day today. I am feeling good, taking lots of naps (which really isn't unusual for me pregnant or not), and am back to work. We don't have kids for another week so that is kind of nice to ease in slowly. The baby is now the size of a lemon. I am wearing maternity pants already because I have never liked tight pants. I think I wore black stretchy pants everyday in the 5th grade, so this dislike for tight pants goes back to my childhood. I like comfort that's for sure, so I just gave up and started putting the pants on.

Sara and I went to see Dave Matthews Band on Saturday in Dallas. We had really good seats and enjoyed our 9th Dave concert together. It has become a tradition for us to go every year except this year we realized we weren't as young as we used to be and got real seats instead of lawn seats. The first year we went was the summer before my Sophomore year in high school. I missed 2 years when we lived in Oklahoma. One year before I even knew George we went to The Woodlands and stayed the night in a hotel just to see him there. At the concert we sat next to some dorks who kept yelling "play crash" probably because that's the only song he knew, over and over again. We realized that was were way cooler than them and that they obviously didn't know Dave like we do. haha.... I only took 2 pictures cause my camera died, but here they are below.

This is the baby's 2nd concert so far. The first was John Mayer, and now Dave. This concert was much cooler than John Mayer and the crowd was an older group 25-40 year olds for the most part.
I better get in bed and finish watching the Olympics! Not sure what we are going to do with ourselves once they are over. We are addicted and so proud of the USA!

Back to School

A song always comes to mind at this time of the year and George continues to sing it to me daily before the first day of school so here it goes...

Back to school, back to school
to prove to dad that I'm not a fool
I've got my lunch packed up,
my boots tied tight
I hope I don't get in a fight
Ohh, back to school, back to school
Back to school....

~Billy Madison

One funny thing about me growing up is that I have always thrown up before the first day of school, and I couldn't go to sleep the night before either. It kind of stopped when I got into my Sophomore year of high school, but now if I throw up this year, I kind of have a better reason. I am excited about starting school because I want to do a lot of things differently that I did last year being a new teacher. Yet, I am kind of nervous about getting all big and pregnant while teaching. It makes me excited because the faster I start, the faster it will be February and I won't have to be pregnant anymore and get to be a mommy.

So, coming from the real world prior to teaching, I never understood why teachers complain about going back to school since they have had 3 months off and I only got the 4th of July off and maybe a weeks worth of vacation. But, being a teacher I realize that you really do need that kind of a break to forget about all the kiddos that gave you trouble so that you can dream of the perfect class again. That's what I'm doing this year, dreaming of 160 perfect little angels that love learning and love me... I'll give you an update on that dream after the first couple of weeks of school once they get comfortable and adjusted.

It's A.......

little stinker..... Yes that's right.. Our little bundle of joy was a little hard headed today at the doctor. Imagine that. I think we are already getting payback from our childhood and what we did to our parents. We went to see Dr. Ford this morning and when he went to hear the heartbeat with just a Doppler thing, he couldn't find it. It took like 10 minutes of moving, prodding, and stress and still no heartbeat. So.. we had to wait again in the waiting room until the sonogram room was free and do another sonogram. We did hear a perfect little heartbeat and everything is fine, just kind of stressed us out for a few minutes. The baby was moving around and doing flips in my stomach. It was hard for Dr. Ford to get a good picture, but he did. Here he/she is at 12 weeks and 5 days.

I am doing good and feeling more and more back to normal. I have not gained any weight since my first visit, so that made me happy. I know it will happen sooner or later, so I'll just wait until later. I go back on September 4th and then we should find out if its a boy or girl around Oct. 2nd.

So our house is FINISHED... I never thought I would say that 4 months later... But it is!!

Here are some pictures:

Baby's Room:

Cleaned out vs. the earlier picture I posted with junk everywhere...

So the projects never end around here. I have found the baby furniture I want and we are preparing to fill that room up and give us some more things to do. The fun never ends!!

One Word- HOT!!!!

Hot is probably the the most used word in my vocabulary at this time. 106 degrees and being pregnant does not mix too well. Although, it doesn't help much when your AC goes out on a Saturday and it cannot be fixed until Monday. This is another time when I am thankful I live so close to family. The Martin Motel has been treating us pretty well with many meals and cool air and fans.

Since I am not going into my house, I do not have my camera, so I will post some pictures later. But here are some things going on in our life right now.

1. I finished my certification on Friday and am now an official teacher!
2. I am 12 weeks and 1 day and the baby is the size of a lime now.
3. My clothes are starting to all get uncomfortable if I sit in them a long time.
4. I am no longer feeling sick anymore which makes me extremely happy:)
5. We go to the doctor on Thursday for our 12 week check up.
6. I went with my bestest friend Kami to see John Mayer on Friday night and despite all the sweat and heat, it was awesome and he performed without a shirt on which was a plus.
7. My cousin Lindsey leaves for New York City on Tuesday to be a star.
8. My parents are selling the corvettes:(( Good times in those cars!
9. Our AC went out and its hot ( I just had to repeat that cause its so traumatic)
10. I have one more week of ME time before school starts. I can't wait to do nothing....
11. Our house is so close to being finished. Just waiting on the carpet to come in from Georgia this week and get installed.
12. I got a cute Astros outfit and blanket from Grandma for baby Price. Thanks:)
13. My bestest friend Alex got a job teaching-YAY!! You are going to do great!
14. George is taking half a week off this week to hang out with me:)
15. The Olympics start on Friday! Go USA!
